The fresh top notes of lemon and bergamot give way to a warm, floral heart of mimosa and violet, before the fragrance fades into a wild atmosphere of suede, amber and tobacco leaves. Animalique is a fragrance for the multi-faceted you, constantly writing its own story, with an accord of the finest leather that melts into the skin and speaks to the common essence of all people: our authentic substance and primal instincts. Here, inhibitions are broken down, reality and fantasy merge, and we emerge from this synthesis as magnificent mythical creatures. It is the feeling of euphoric dancing under disco lights, the biological, illogical attraction, being carried away by the great swing of the vibrations.

The Animalique campaign is inspired by makeup artist Kabuki Starshine. Ben Gorham, founder of Byredo, fell in love with the iconic portrait of Richard Burbidge, created in collaboration with Kabuki, depicting one of his clubbing personas - an androgynous hybrid of human and lizard, representing the exuberance and extravagance of New York nightlife in the '90s. Identity is mutable. Animalique is about preserving the freedom to transform.
